Cora Delphine’s 1st birthday party
July 2, 2012
Whew we’ve been busy! Our boxes have finally arrived from England, so we’ve been trying to cram a bunch of crap into an already overfull house. No fun. My mother-in-law came to help for the weekend, along with my sister, and they were a huge huge help. Still not quite finished, but getting there.
Last weekend we had a little first birthday for our darling Cora. With all the moving, I hadn’t done any prep work at all (besides pinning things on Pinterest, which, though it seems as if you’re prepping, you aren’t actually getting much done!). Cora and I went to my mom’s house a few days early to get things together.
Cora’s uncle Philip (or Uncle Bubba, as he’s known to Cora) experimented with her cake all week. It turned out so beautiful!
We invited some lovely friends and their littles, as well as Cora’s family in Birmingham. We had a lovely time. Cora ADORES children, especially older children. She had a blast.

She was incredibly unsure of the cake at first.

Until she realized it was squishy.

And she eventually tasted it — baby’s first taste of sugar! She still prefers hummus.

Cora’s sweet, gorgeous cousin Charlee helped her open her gifts. She loved them all!
It was a lovely day; thank you to all our family and friends for helping us celebrate!
